Ocean Pollution Information Session

Spring & Earth Day Events & Festivals

Kick-off the spring season by celebrating nature.  COA is participating in several festivities this spring.  Visit or volunteer for COA at the following events and festivals:

Saturday, April 22

  • Whole Foods Earth Day, Middletown, Rt. 35 North, 10am-5pm.  The event will include Earth-friendly exhibits and educational activities hosted by local nonprofit organizations, including NY/NJ Baykeepers’ “Meet the Oysters” exhibit and COA’s “Pointless Pollution” demonstration.  Also, free seed packets to the store’s first 1,000 customers and raffles throughout the day for baskets of environmentally friendly cleaning products.
  • Rockin’ Earth Day Celebration, Marlboro Recreational Center, 1996 Recreation Way, Marlboro, 6:30pm.  Celebration featuring music by local bands and refreshments.  $5 admission will be donated to COA and Surfers’ Environmental Alliance.
  • Cape May County Earth Day, Cape May County Park & Zoo, 10am-4pm.  To volunteer, contact Tony.

Sunday, April 23

  • Atlantic County Earth Day, Atlantic County Utilities Authority, 10am-4pm.  To volunteer, contact Tony.
  • Monmouth County Park System Earth Day Celebration, Manasquan Reservoir Environmental Center, Howell, 12 noon-5pm.  To volunteer, contact Kari.

Saturday, April 29

Sunday, May 7

  • Hooked on Hudson, Ross Dock Area, Palisades Interstate Park.  Fishing contest (8am), shad bake (12 noon), and environmental organizations/displays (all day).  To volunteer for COA from 9am-2pm, contact Kari.
  • Hoboken Spring Arts & Music Festival, Washington Street from Observer Highway to 7th Street, 11am-6pm.  To volunteer for COA, contact Kari.
