Clean Ocean Action

Seaside Environmental Academy (SEA)

The Seaside Environmental Academy (SEA) are guided coastal field trips focused on science and stewardship to educate middle school and high school students through exploration and hands-on activities. The focus is to increase awareness and understanding about natural ecosystems and how human impacts can cause benefit or harm. Importantly, while evoking wonder and joy, the SEA program instills students with a sense of responsibility and stewardship to protect and preserve the natural world. Content includes marine life identification, seining netting and release of critters, birding, botany, coastal history and geography, as well as cultural connections including Native Americans. SEA Director Kevin Connelly has over 30 years of experience in outdoor education for students K-12. Programs can also be arranged for college level students.

The SEA program is a fee for service. Registration for 2024 begins November 1, 2023.
