Fond Farewell to Summer Interns

It is that time of year when COA says good-bye and smooth sailing to summer interns.  Lisa Kiwak, 2005 COAST Intern, coordinated a successful campaign this summer, educating hundreds of residents and visitors about the Clean Ocean Zone.  Lisa is embarking on a career in journalism and communications.

Chris Ackerman, 2005 Legal Intern, worked on a variety of projects, including questions pertaining to the Clean Water Act, the development of a framework for municipalities on stormwater issues, review of offshore wind turbines, and a proposal to encourage solar panels for housing units.  Chris returns to Vermont Law School this fall.

Emily Jack-Scott, Marine Science Intern at the Institute of Coastal Education (ICE) in Wildwood, greeted and educated ICE visitors about exhibits and marine life.  Emily also assisted at special events, staffed COAST tables in Cape May, Atlantic City, and North Wildwood, and helped with educational programs.  Emily returns to Yale University for her second year of environmental studies.
